Horse leaders, horse sidewalkers. Leading horses for challenged equestrians. Sidewalking with those clients who may need some extra support. Volunteers also required during summer camps and March break for tasks mentioned and other activities such as crafts.

• Arrive at the Meal Source at the prearranged time.  
• If delivering with another volunteer, meet volunteer and pick up route sheet. 
• Deliver meals in the order they appear on the route sheet/book. 
• At the client’s home. Knock loudly and call out “Meals on Wheels”. 
• Place hot meals on client’s table. If delivering frozen meals, offer to place in freezer. 
• Retrieve empty tray and previous days’ dishes for return to Meal Source. 
• Converse with client to check on client’s well being. 
• Report any problems or concerns encountered in carrying out duties to Home and community support services of Grey Bruce.

The Caregiver Support Circle has many different aspects and needs volunteers to help with the following: 
 Education Series – along with the facilitator, you would help co-lead the 4 week sessions.  
 Monthly Support Groups – you would help facilitate the monthly meetings where caregivers can go to share feelings and frustrations. 
 Healing and Wellness – if you do you a healing modality (like Reiki or Therapeutic Touch) or gentle movement (like Tai Chi or yoga), we could use your talents for the 4 week sessions. 
 One to One Support – you would provide support for the caregiver, either by telephone or in person. 
 Caregiver Relief – for example, sitting with someone while the caregiver goes out.  
 Newsletter for Caregivers – if you are computer savvy and would like to take on putting together a newsletter and sending it out to our email list, we could use your help.

Supportive care volunteers are special people who offer social and emotional support to individuals and families living with a life-threatening or life-limiting illness in Grey and Bruce counties (except Bruce Peninsula).  
* Support is available in the client’s home, long term care home, residential hospice or hospital. 
* Volunteers offer support for approximately 4 hours per week depending on need of individual and family and the availability of volunteers and offer respite for family caregivers and companionship to individuals. 
* As well, Residential Hospice (in Owen Sound) volunteers currently support the operation of the facility with light housekeeping and mealtime support. Staff and volunteers all contribute to the operation of the house.

Big Brothers Traditional Program - a Big Brother is matched with a Little Brother, ensuring they have similar interests to spend one-to-one time together to talk, play ball, watch a movie or just hang out together  
 
Big Sisters Traditional Program - a Big Sister is matched with a Little Sister ensuring they have similar interests to spend one-to-one time together, developing a friendship and engage in mutually desired activities  
 
Couples for Kids - volunteer with your partner or spouse and be matched to a Little Brother or Little Sister to give the gift of friendship to a child  
 
In-School Mentoring - program takes place at the child’s school, during the school year * mentor spends one hour per week doing a fun activity or just talking with a child who could use a friend * employers are encouraged to give employees the time during the work day to volunteer  
 
 
Boys Club for boys 9-12 years of age * group meets Tuesday's at 6:30 at Connaught Public School. * include a wide variety of recreational activities * call for locations and times  
 
Cops, Kids and Communities - Officers, Auxiliary Officers and Administrative Staff from Collingwood and the Huronia West OPP detachments have joined forces with BBBS to allow children to spend time doing fun, healthy activities such as bowling, swimming and touring the OPP and fire stations while promoting the basic principles of respect, understanding, healthy eating and an active lifestyle  
 
Homework Club - currently operates on Tuesday and Thursday after school in Collingwood * children in the BBBS program are matched to high school helpers who work one to one under the BBBS staff supervision * healthy snacks are provided * call for locations and times  
 
 
 
 
Summer Camp Programs - clients who might not otherwise have an opportunity to experience camp life or to travel outside their region are given priority but program is accessible to any client

In community centres and retirement homes throughout Grey Bruce
VON SMART and Falls Prevention classes are led by volunteers who VON trains (2 days of practical plus the theory) and certify. Weekly we offer over 50 Level 1 and Level 2 classes in Grey Bruce with over 1,000 participants! We ask for a minimum commitment of 2 hours a week (one class) but have flexible schedules for those who are away for long periods of time. We are looking for volunteer instructors for both levels of classes.
