The Beaver Valley Bruce Trail Club is a volunteer-run, not-for-profit group that maintains and stewards the Bruce Trail and its lands from the western edge of the Blue Mountains to Blantyre. Volunteers have the opportunity to contribute to conservation and the Bruce Trail in a variety of ways.
Trail Maintenance volunteers are part of a roster that may include: sawyers, trail builders, grass-cutters and trimmers, trail clean-up, etc.
Volunteer Land Stewards actively care for each of the properties that are owned or managed by the Bruce Trail Conservancy by visiting an assigned property at least twice a year, completing annual reports on the conditions of the land, and providing input into the stewardship plans.
Hike Leaders plan and guide hikers on the trail in organized hikes approximately once per month, in all four seasons if possible.
Other opportunities to volunteer in Communications and Publicity, Outreach, or on the Board are available as well.
All volunteers will receive training and equipment as necessary. Commitment times are flexible. Please contact the Club to find the opportunity that's right for you!
Variety of volunteer positions which focus on patients, visitors and staff. Positions available in ambulatory care reception, Inpatient Units, gift shop, reminder telephoning, diagnostic imaging Xray, CT, Mammography, Bone Density, MRI, Surgical Day Care (Post anaesthetic care unit). ICU and Emergency Department
We do ask volunteers to try and commit to a period of time on a regular basis (e.g. a particular morning/evening every week or every other week) as it makes it easier for scheduling and also keeps the volunteer familiar to the animals they are caring for. With the dogs, this makes a big difference. We have some dogs that are with us for a while before finding a forever home so we try to have them handled by people they know as much as possible.
We are looking for Greeters to assist in our Treasure Shop. The greeter will be welcoming the customers and notifying them of any sales of the week. Assisting other volunteers as needed.
We are looking to cover the following shifts:
Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Saturdays 12:30 to 3:30p.m.
