The Craigleith Heritage Depot continuously collects information on ALL aspects of the history of The Blue Mountains. The research volunteer will assist with:
• the development of our vertical files
• research topics for upcoming exhibits
• assist visiting researchers with their searches
The research volunteer will be provided training on the existing resources and how to use databases and on-line resources. We seek a weekly commitment of a minimum of 2-3 hours any day of the week or Wednesday evening.

- Sew garment bags to protect historic textiles and clothing
- Make padded hangers for the historic clothing
- Sew historic costumes
- Fit and alter costumes for costumed staff
- Advise if costumes need to be cleaned and/or laundered
- Repair damaged or worn costumes pieces
- Maintain a catalogue of costumes

Museum Volunteer- Our museum collection continues to grow and The Craigleith Heritage Depot requires assistance in maintaining and researching artifacts. This volunteer would assist in photography, organization, research and creating finding aids.
The collections volunteer will assist with all or some of these tasks
• creating on a computer finding aids for subjects
• photographing or scanning artifacts
• working on special programmes related to research/geneology/history
• researching artifacts

Active Living Program Volunteer
Alzheimer Society of Grey-Bruce
Owen Sound, Hanover, Markdale, Meaford, Southampton
- Support our Social Recreation Coordinator with the delivery of varied programs for people living with dementia.
- Ensure that participants are engaged
- Some light set up and clean up of the space for each program
- Training as appropriate for each course
- Volunteers participate in the activities along with the participants - It's fun!
- This program may be held virtually during the pandemic. A computer would be a requirement to volunteer in that case
