Duties | •Labeling and numbering the collection •Perform preventative conservation, such as re-housing, boxing and sleeving material into acid-free enclosures •Produce finding aids •Index reference files •Produce inventory lists of records •Research the history of record-creating agencies or individuals •Create and index oral history recordings •Perform research for public reference enquiries or Grey Roots projects •Participate in writing, scanning and photography projects •General administrative support work | |||

Benefits | Archives volunteers make a positive contribution to ensure that the documentary heritage resources of the County are preserved and accessible for research, education and enjoyment by present and future generations. Upon completion of 20 hours of service annually, they and a guest may visit Grey Roots free of charge. They will receive a quarterly volunteer newsletter, discounts in the gift shop, insurance coverage while on duty and an annual recognition event. | |||
