Community Programs

Emotional and social support for individuals dealing with a life-threatening illness and their families/caregivers and families grieving a loss.

Tomkins House

6 Private rooms with Murphy Beds, personal washrooms and home-like environment where those in the final weeks of life can live in comfort and dignity until they die.

Features include:

spa room
quiet room for family meetings
family room for larger gatherings
full kitchen and dining room
24/7 palliative care nursing to focus on pain and symptom management

Bereavement Support Group

For anyone who has experienced the death of someone close, available in individual or group setting. Activities include:

coffee and conversation
yoga for grief
art therapy for grief
parent's circle

Eligibility	Individuals at the end of life and their families/care providers requiring palliative care or bereaved in need of support Must meet Residency Requirements
Application	Anyone can refer someone to Hospice Huronia with the consent of the person being referred Hospice conducts client assessment as final step in registration Call for information or to register for support groups
