Description

Description (Service)

Oversees compliance with and enforcement of Ontario's accessibility laws, develops and maintains accessibility standards under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), supports development of educational resources on accessibility

  • information and referral on a wide range of seniors issues
  • policy and program development geared to seniors
  • publishes the free Guide to Programs and Services for Seniors in Ontario, available online or in print
    • for Publications Ontario call ServiceOntario Publications 1-800-668-9938
  • oversees the Retirement Homes Regulatory Authority (RHRA)

 

Seniors Community Grant program - monetary support of $1000 to $25,000 for non-profit community groups to deliver programming supporting seniors in the following areas

  • independent living, general safety and security
  • community connection and prevention of social isolation
  • financial security

Deadline to apply is January 16, 2025 at 5 pm eastern time
