Description

Description (Service)

A non-profit, community-based organization that actively seeks diverse partnerships with idea-makers on aspects of sustainability:

  • climate awareness
  • environmental restoration
  • nature based solutions
  • cultural alignments with Indigenous reconciliation
  • local food security, and
  • a green circular economy with youth engagement.

The Sustainability Project can support and scale projects from thought-concept through to implementation, including communication, financial management, and providing you a platform.

Current projects include:

  • Community Garden Network & Gleaning Program
  • Tiny Forest in Wiarton
  • Youth Climate Action Conference
  • The Natural Edge
  • CareerWORKS (Food, Water, Energy, Health themes)
  • Grey Bruce Sustainability Asset Map (GBSAM)
  • Regenerate Grey Bruce
  • Climate FORUM

Also plan to facilitate the creation of a regional "report card" that will give communities the ability to set sustainability goals and monitor their progress. The report card would propose a set of sustainability indicators that are relevant to Grey Bruce and would support development of an integrated community sustainability plan. Based on community input, an integrated community sustainability plan is a long term plan that provides direction to realize sustainability objectives across environmental, cultural, economic and social spheres.
